4 Areas of Knowledge
-
We have categorised poses into 7 separate series:
Sun Salutations, Warrior Series, Standing Balancing Series, Arm Balances + Inversion Series, Backbend Series, Seated Series and Reclined Series.
For each of these series, we have deep-dive sessions where we will thoroughly explore the alignments and modifications for each of the poses. We will also discuss how to adjust someone executing the poses and provide various regression exercises and progression from the poses, in order to cater for all abilities.
-
Here, we will be looking at 6 different systems and how they relate to yoga asana practice and yoga philosophy. These 6 systems covered are: muscular system, skeletal system, digestive system, respiratory system, endocrine system and cardiovascular system.
Yoga is a holistic, integrative mind-body practice and as such, we need to understand the body as a whole system and not just focus on aspects of the body that are needed to execute a yoga pose.
Understanding anatomy of the human body is crucial in ensuring that your practice and your students’ are conducted in a safe manner.
-
We will discover (and perhaps, uncover) the tradition of Yoga that started in modern-day India, thousands of years ago. Here we will take into account material culture to understand the religious underpinnings of Yoga, the societal norms then, and the development of Yoga to what it is today. We will learn about the Yogic perspective on the Universe, the human body and God.
-
There are two aspects to teaching that we cover: Sequencing and Cueing.
In sequencing, you will be taught two specific frameworks that would help organise your class. These frameworks are very helpful to ensure that a class is conducted safely whilst ensuring everyone is able to benefit from it physically.
In cueing, you will be guided to find your voice as a teacher. Whether you are soft spoken, or have a larger-than-life personality, in this segment, you will amplify your traits to realise the potential within. This is where you will be attached to a mentor in assisting you to find that voice.
All of these will culminate in a community session.

Having teachers that provide an in-depth education in anatomy and yoga philosophy in their specialized fields, Yoga+ is definitely the training school I would recommend to complete the 200 hours if you are open to training that focuses on the practice, and how to be a better teacher.
The teachers are a complete joy to be with throughout the journey.

Programme is very well-structured and broken down into asana, philosophy, anatomy and teaching portions.
Throughout the course, each portion is weaved into the other portions and helps to give a better understanding and bigger picture of all the different components as a whole.
It was a very fulfilling and valuable experience and I find myself improving much more after having better understanding of anatomy, asana, breathing practices that can be incorporated into the practice on the mat.
Philosophy component was also interesting and thought-provoking, with the materials made digestible and more relatable to students.

While there is a structure of the curriculum, there are opportunities for students' creativity and allowing us to practise trial and error of our suggestions.
Hence the learning curve is steep as we learn from our mistakes in an authentic and practical learning environment.

Excellent and well-structured YTT program run by the knowledgeable and dedicated founders of Yoga+. I did the weekday program and felt my physical practice improve substantially from the beginning to the end of the program.
Beyond their years of asana teaching experience, Bianca's medical training and Suffian's religious studies background give a depth and richness to the anatomy and philosophy portions of the YTT program at Yoga+.
The course includes a well-thought out module on how to teach, to help students formulate and develop their teaching practice. Highly recommend the YTT at Yoga+ to anyone seeking to deepen their practice and/or to understand the philosophical & anatomical basis of yoga.

I believe Yoga+ to have a high standard of yoga practices/teachings which will strongly equip every graduate to teach proficiently anywhere in the world.
Leading the Yoga Teacher Training program are our two co-founders, Dr Bianca and Suffian. Both are specialists in the field and will be co-teaching aspects of the Teacher Training Program.
Both of them have been teaching yoga since 2015 and they have seen over 15 batches of Yoga Teacher Trainings.
Assisting them is Sabrina Jabbar, a long-standing teacher with Yoga+.

Growing up, it’s fair to say that Bianca constantly sought to improve people’s lives. As she tinkered with a toy rubber stethoscope, her mother’s white cardigan, a memo “prescription” she knew since then she was to be a doctor.Dead set on her dreams, she went on to earn her doctorate in medicine at a tender age of 24, having finished with highest honours from an accelerated premedical program in the Philippines and graduating top in her batch.
With her childhood dreams fulfilled, she felt her medical profession ironically took a toll on her. The long arduous 36 hour shifts led her to rethink her life goal.
Bianca’s practice roots from the empowerment that comes with a seamlessly aligned asana. She encourages her students to cultivate peace in an asana through the union of strength flexibility in harmony with the breath.
With her strong medical and anatomical background, she provides a safe space for her students to seek serenity, balance, and refuge.
Radical and even taboo for some, she hung up her coat but never resigned from her drive to make a difference.
She continues to live her dreams, still treating people but now on the mat, clad in tights and a prescription for patience.

One of his students describes him as “the most personality in a yoga teacher in Singapore” which would give you a big hint to the engaging and fun group classes that he teaches. On the the flip side, Suffian is a serious student of yoga history and philosophy, and his heart lies in the study of religion.
After teaching for 4 years, Suffian attained his RYT-300 certification from Radiantly Alive in 2019 under the tutelage of movement master, Carlos Tao. In the same year, he continued his studies, attending summer school in Oxford University reading world religion as well as the inaugural Yoga summer school in SOAS (School of Oriental & African Studies).
All that knowledge that he is constantly acquiring is being translated into unique workshops that he conducts, blending eastern philosophy and history with asana practice.
As a lululemon legacy ambassador and an advocate of mindful living, Suffian uses whatever platforms he can to allow the people around him to search for and grow into the best version of themselves.
Yoga is as much internal growth as it is external.
